If you have registered as a user of the "Raduraksti" environment:

  • Click on the headline Contents. This leads you to the list of:
    • Church books
    • Revision lists
    • Census (1897)
    • Click on the headline Registers, this leads you to the list of confesssions:
      • Baptist
      • Evangelic Lutheran
      • Greek Catholic
      • Jews
      • Old Believers
      • Orthodox
      • Reformed Protestant
      • Roman Catholic
      • – Chose a confesssion and this leads you to the alphabetical list of parishes (Evangelic Lutheran confession offers Parishes (Draudzes) or Settlements (Apdzīvotas vietas). Click on the headline Parishes (Draudzes), this leads you to the list of all Parishes (Draudzes). Click on the headline Settlements (Apdzīvotas vietas), chose a settlement, click on this and this leads you to the corresponding Parish (Draudze) or Parishes (Draudzes).
        • – Chose a parish, this leads you to the chronological list of church books. The years show that in respective registers you can find all records made in that time.

After the years the kind of accessible registers is stated:

  • Dz – birth and baptism register
  • L – marriage register
  • M – death register
  • Cf – confirmation register
  • Cm – register of communicants
  • DS – Parish member lists

Letters “l” and “v” stated in brackets after the registers show the language of the divine service. The registers of the Latvian congregation (l) contain information about the persons of Latvian ethnic background, the German congregation (v) – information about persons of German ethnic background.

For example,
1776–1833 Dz,L,M (v) means that one church book contains birth, marriage and death records of the German congregation for 1776–1833.

1892 M (l,v) means that one church book contains death records of both Latvian and German congregations for 1892.

Click on Revision lists (Dvēseļu revīzijas) or Materials of Russian Empire Census (Tautas skaitīšana) this leads you to the alphabetical list of settlements.

Click on the record you need and a browser of digitalized images will open. Use the key pointer button in the upper right corner and you will see the record (from left to right: first, previous, next, last). The number field will allow you to open any desired image.

How to explore the document?

Click on the record title and a browser of digitalized images will open the picture of digitalized image. By clicking on the general view an image in his original size will open. Pressing the left mouse button you can drag image in any direction. Clicking on the image twice will adjust to a window size. Moving to the following image it will open the same way as previous. If the previous image was adjusted to the window size, then also the following image automatically will be adapted to the window size. But if the previous image was opened in its original size then moving to the following image it will be also opened in its original size.

How to search the document?

„Raduraksti” is a collection of digitalized images and it is not possible to search a document, using personal information (for example, family name). The development of information technologies goes not so far that computer programs could correctly decode various handwritings in the fragile documents.
